History: Bible Study Class actually started at YMCA Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. In October 1979, Dr. Dora Tan, who is a member of Trinity Community Centre (TCC), invited some Deaf Club members to join Bible study class which were conducted by her every Sunday afternoon.
Gradually, more Deaf members came to join her class. They helped Dr. Dora Tan to interpret the bible stories. Years later, the ministry started to grow and this group reached out to other Deaf people.
The Deaf Ministry grew and started to organise their own programmes such as annual Deaf leadership camps, inter-Deaf ministry camps, Deaf celebrations, indoor and outdoor activities. The Deaf cell group meets once every week to learn God's Word and the weekly Revival Prayer Meeting catered for the spiritual needs of the members.
The Deaf Christian Community in Malaysia is a growing and expanding ministry widely established in several Assemblies of God Churches.

The Malaya, Chinese and the Indian communities are the three major races in Malaysia. Malaysians have different religious beliefs mainly, Islam, Buddhism, Christianity and Hinduism. Thus, you will find that the Deaf here too, practice these religious belief usually brought down from their parents.
The support for the Deaf community's religious needs are growing.
For a Deaf person to follow and to participate in the proceedings of these religions, there are some factors that should be considered, such as the availability of Sign Language interpreters and seating positions for the Deaf.
